Overview

A day split between reef and island scenery

Spend a day between reef and shore on the Hamata and Qulaan Islands sea trip, a route that mixes open-water snorkeling with time spent actually standing on an island rather than viewing the coast only from a boat.

The day begins with a guided snorkeling stop, then moves to an island visit reached by inflatable boat. White sand and stands of mangrove give this part of the coastline a different character from a standard boat-only snorkeling route. After time ashore, guests return to the main boat for lunch and drinks before a second snorkeling stop rounds out the day.

The combination of open water, reef, beach time and mangrove scenery gives the excursion more variety than a single-site snorkeling trip. Wildlife may appear along the way, but marine sightings are never guaranteed and should not be treated as part of the fixed schedule.

Protected coastal environment

The island and reef should be treated as a protected natural environment: leave no litter behind and do not remove coral, shells or any other natural objects from the beach or sea.

Why this trip

Marine life and island time in one route

The balance of snorkeling and island time makes this trip attractive to guests interested in both marine life and coastal scenery rather than one or the other exclusively.

It also calls for extra care because the trip moves through a sensitive protected environment. Taking nothing from the beach or reef and leaving no litter behind matters here. Earlier program material listed Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but the current sailing schedule should always be verified before it is published or used for a booking.
